Programs

Youth Connection offers no or low cost social and service opportunities for Wilmette’s youth.

We offer programs for 5th and 6th graders at Highcrest Middle School.

We offer programs for 7th and 8th graders at Wilmette Junior High School.

Youth Connection Programs at Highcrest Middle School

  • RAD is a free, supervised, after-school program where 5th and 6th graders can do homework, socialize with friends, and play games.  RAD takes place in the Highcrest cafeteria, Monday-Friday, 3:35-6:00pm.
  • Homework Club, where students can work on individual homework assignments or on group projects, takes place Monday-Thursday, 3:40-4:40pm, in the Library Media Center.
  • The Youth Connection Theatre Experience provides students who are interested in performing or in the technical aspects of theatre with the opportunity to work on the production of a live theatre performance.
  • Variety Show

Youth Connection Programs at Wilmette Junior High School

  • The DEN is a free, supervised, after school program where 7th and 8th graders can do homework, socialize with friends, and play games.  The DEN takes place in the WJHS Commons, Monday-Friday, 2:45-5:00pm.
  • Homework Club takes place Monday-Thursday, 2:45-4:00pm, in the Library Media Center.  An adult coordinator is available to assist.
  • Art Club meets in the art room on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00-4:00pm.  Students can attend any time.  A small semester fee for supplies is charged.

  • Battle of the Bands is an annual event where student bands and individual performers can showcase their talents for family and friends in the WJHS auditorium.
