Your $upport is Appreciated!
Since 1988, Youth Connection has been committed to providing after school programs at low or no cost to Wilmette’s 5th to 8th graders. We know connected, engaged youth are vital to our community, and our programs encourage them to participate, learn and have fun in inclusive, accepting programs.
This year, more than 28% of Highcrest students and more than 55% of WJHS students participated in a Youth Connection program.
Maybe your WJHS student bought a snack and hung out at the DEN during a “layover” between school dismissal and a sporting event, or explored his creativity in bi-weekly Art Club. Maybe your HMS child played a game at RAD after her PTO After School Club let out, or he participated in the “no cut” theater experience, “Shrek, The Musical, Jr.” Maybe your ‘tween or teen rocked out with friends in or at the Battle of the Bands. These are all free or low-cost Youth Connection programs.
Our funding comes from a few key sponsors, including New Trier Township and the Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club. More importantly, it comes from families like yours.
There are three easy ways you can support our programs before the end of this school year:
Donate. Every dollar counts and every gift is appreciated. Similar local after school programs that meet 3 to 5 days per week can cost close to $4,000 per year; we suggest a donation of $100.
Join the Pub Crawl! The Wilmette Pub Crawl generously donates wristband sales to support Youth Connection and The Warming House. This year, the pub crawl takes place from 7 pm until midnight on Thursday, April 20th. Wristbands purchased in advance are $13 each or 2 for $25. Buy Pub Crawl wristbands online today! If you purchase the night of the event, wristbands will cost $15.
Volunteer. There is no substitute for caring, invested community members. Our board needs volunteers with a multitude of professional backgrounds, but most of all, we seek positive, caring adults. If you have love for this age group and time to give, our board has a meaningful role for you! E-mail us or sign up online to volunteer.
Our safe, supervised drop-in programs on school grounds are there should your family – or a neighboring family – need them for any circumstance, any time.
Please consider making a contribution of $100 to Youth Connection. Donate online or mail a check to Youth Connection, P.O. Box 67, Wilmette, IL 60091. Youth Connection is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization so your contribution will be tax-deductible.
